Culture, homes, leisure, student living & sustainability

Planning consent has been granted for an additional 1,100 residential units, a 200 bed hotel and a small family leisure development.

The site will feature a riverside walkway linking to the existing network and all developments will have the opportunity to connect into a planned District Heating Network which will use water source heat pumps (utilising the riverside location). This is being part funded by the Scottish government and a planning application for this is underway.

Yorkhill Quay features the Riverside Museum designed by Internationally acclaimed architect Zaha Hadid with circa 1.5m visitors annually and the Clydeside Distillery & Whiskey Museum in the former Pumphouse.

Yorkhill benefits.

Near Local Universities
The development is just a 20-minute walk from the University of Glasgow, with rail and subway connections to the city centre. The recently announced Glasgow Riverside Innovation District will be minutes walk away.

Enhancing Glasgow’s Waterfront The redefined riverside walk provides the main spine for the development and repairs connections and access along the river between Partick, Kelvingrove Park, Riverside Museum, SEC and Hydro and the city centre.

Meeting Student Housing Needs Potential to create circa. 600 homes for students amidst the student accommodation housing shortage.

Enhancing Public Realm The landscape strategy is to re-purpose and enhance the currently vacant land and revitalise this part of the riverside into an attractive, vibrant and fully permeable green corridor.

Vibrant Location Not only does the site benefit from being situated on the River Clyde with views across Glasgow, it also benefits from close proximity to a great number of entertainment offerings such as the Riverside Museum, Clydeside Distillery, SEC, SWG3 and the Science Museum.
